Description
The grant Financial Assistance for Pregnant Women in Difficult Financial Situations supports pregnant individuals with their main residence in the state of Salzburg who are experiencing financial hardship. In the thematic area of Social Affairs, Women's Promotion, as well as Labor & Social Affairs, the state of Salzburg provides a one-time subsidy of up to €600 before birth; in exceptional cases, an additional amount of up to €400 can be granted within the first year of the child's life. The funding measure is ongoing and requires a valid residence permit or an EU/EWR registration certificate, a personal counseling appointment, and the application to be submitted within a period of 12 to no later than 0 weeks before the expected due date.
The aim of this support is to secure the livelihood during and immediately after pregnancy and to relieve expectant parents in challenging life situations. Within the framework of free social counseling with certified social workers, all relevant factors such as income and housing situation, family environment, and health aspects are examined. For the application, besides proof of residence, only the valid residence permit or registration certificate must be presented; the payment is made directly to the specified account. Unduly received amounts must be repaid. This one-time funding provides planning security and contributes to strengthening socially disadvantaged families in Salzburg.
