Description
The state of Salzburg supports pregnant individuals in financially strained situations with a one-time grant of up to €600 or €300 before the birth of the child. Additionally, in exceptional cases, a postnatal assistance of €400 may be granted within the first year of the child's life. The aim of this measure is to relieve expectant mothers whose own livelihood falls below a defined threshold and who cannot support themselves without additional financial aid. The funding is permanently available and is aimed at private individuals with their main residence in the state of Salzburg.
Eligible applicants are pregnant individuals with a valid residence permit (for third-country nationals) or a registration certificate (for EU/EWR/Swiss citizens) who can prove their neediness with appropriate documents. Required proofs include the registration certificate, the residence permit or registration certificate, as well as documents to verify the financial situation. The application must be submitted before birth, between 12 and 8 weeks prior to the expected due date, and will be assessed based on the criterion of actual financial need. Funds paid out unlawfully must be repaid. The funding aims to ensure that expectant parents in Salzburg facing challenging life circumstances receive timely and unbureaucratic support.
