Description

The Schubert-Durand Foundation, based in Lörrach, continuously awards financial grants for the education and training of girls and women from the Islamic cultural sphere in Baden-Württemberg. Regardless of nationality or religious affiliation, the focus of the funding is on language support, school, vocational, professional, and higher education. The aim is to sustainably strengthen social participation and professional prospects and to enable a self-determined life. Applications from the Lörrach region and surrounding areas are given priority in order to support local structures and promote exemplary projects with long-term impact potential.

Eligible for funding are privately needy individuals who wish to achieve their educational goals through language courses, school attendance, or university studies. A prerequisite is proof of credible neediness as well as the exhaustion of public benefits. The maximum project duration is twelve months; funds are granted as a subsidy and are settled after project completion with a success report or final report. Evaluation criteria include sustainability, exemplary character, and regional orientation. To apply, a completed funding application, a detailed project description, cost evidence, income certificates, and receipts for expenses already incurred must be submitted. The decision on the amount of funding is made by the board of trustees. A second application for possible continued funding can be submitted after the approval period has expired. In this way, the foundation opens up diverse opportunities for education and social participation for young Muslim girls and women.
