Description
The funding of Raab-Oedenburg-Ebenfurter Eisenbahn AG (9th MIP) supports the modernization and capacity expansion of the regional rail infrastructure in Burgenland. In the period 2021–2025, federal and Burgenland state authorities will provide grants totaling €7.943 million within a medium-term investment program. Eligible companies, such as railway infrastructure enterprises, can thereby implement qualitative improvements in transport performance while simultaneously complying with safety-related requirements – ranging from employee protection regulations to provisions on disability equality. The funding specifically targets measures that make passenger and freight rail transport more attractive and raise operational safety to the state-of-the-art level.
The program aims at a sustainable strengthening of the regional transport network. A prerequisite for approval is a request letter from the railway infrastructure company as well as the submission of interim reports and a final report including payment proofs and accounting. The maximum project duration is 60 months, with applications accepted until December 31, 2026. Through the combination of federal and state grants, infrastructure projects are financially secured and contribute decisively to the implementation of Austrian transport policy. Interested companies thus have the opportunity to expand their route networks in a future-oriented manner and to ensure a modern, efficient rail transport system in Burgenland in the long term.
