Description

The program promotes health literacy among children aged three and older in publicly funded and educational institutions in Baden-Württemberg. With a 100% subsidy, kindergartens receive practical module packages on nutrition, exercise, and relaxation. At the same time, free training sessions qualify professionals – from educators to care staff – through regionally anchored experts. Parents are involved in age-appropriate parent-child activities to jointly embed health-promoting content into everyday family life. The continuous funding opportunity allows for flexible selection and long-term integration of the individual support modules into daily kindergarten routines.

The six modules convey basic knowledge and methods in a playful manner:
Nutrition covers food groups and simple preparation;
Exercise trains motor skills, reaction, and orientation abilities;
Relaxation introduces various techniques from children's yoga to guided imagery;
My Body I + II explains organs, body parts, and basic first aid;
Strong Children strengthens self-assertion, conflict, and emotion management.
Each module combines training for educational professionals, optional parent evenings, and age-appropriate activities for children. This creates a sustainable network of professionals, parents, and children that lays the foundation for a healthy lifestyle early on. The initiative is supported by the non-profit foundation Die Gesundarbeiter – Zukunftsverantwortung Gesundheit and is specifically aimed at daycare centers in Baden-Württemberg.
