Refugee Assistance in Munich

The Sternenstaub Foundation supports private initiatives in Bavaria that assist refugees in Munich through a variety of leisure activities. With a continuously open grant, craft and baking afternoons for children, excursions to the surrounding area, as well as cooking and social evenings for adults are financed. In the bright rooms of the foundation, a protected environment is created where participants can laugh together, share their cultures, and form new friendships. The goal is to break up the stressful conditions in communal accommodations and create a space for exchange, relaxation, and joyful experiences. Through regular offerings, not only social participation but also integration into urban life is strengthened.

Funding is provided to private individuals with a valid residence permit as refugees and residing in Munich. Applications can be submitted at any time, as there are no fixed deadlines. The funding program is particularly aimed at children, adolescents, and adults in communal accommodations seeking support in organizing leisure activities. The submitted projects should contribute through creative, communal activities to partially regain a lost sense of home and open up future prospects. The grant covers material costs and fees to realize long-term stable offerings and to establish sustainable networks between Munich residents and refugees.
