Airfield Funding

The airfield funding of the state of Baden-Württemberg supports operators of regional airports, airfields, and the Baden-Württemberg Aviation Association (BWLV) with investment grants for the construction, expansion, and maintenance of aviation facilities. Funding is provided, for example, for the new construction of runways, hangars, or passenger terminals, as well as for the modernizing maintenance of existing infrastructure. Additionally, funds can be applied for the procurement and maintenance of aviation equipment to ensure smooth operations and efficient availability of rescue or training fleets.

The focus is on measures to enhance flight and traffic safety as well as environmental protection – including noise reduction systems or innovative drainage solutions. Furthermore, the funding strengthens air sports through grants for the construction and renovation of air sports facilities. Applications can be submitted continuously and independently of fixed deadlines. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and covers eligible expenses such as construction and maintenance costs as well as the acquisition of aviation equipment. This program expands regional transport connections, generates economic impulses, and sustainably secures the future of air sports in Baden-Württemberg.
