Description
The Dieter von Holtzbrinck Stiftung GmbH supports civil society initiatives, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions nationwide through its funding area "Development Aid & International Understanding," implementing sustainable projects in developing and crisis regions. With primarily idealistic and financial support, the foundation aims to promote self-help, supply, and resilience enhancement for refugees and host communities. The range extends from agricultural measures to social and educational programs, as well as research, innovation, and democratic engagement. As a grant provider, the Dieter von Holtzbrinck Stiftung allows for continuous application submissions and places great emphasis on intercultural exchange, building local capacities, and fostering social cohesion.
Special attention is given to programs promoting international understanding, such as the "Arab Women Graduate Scholarship," which supports Arab female students at the University of Haifa with scholarships over two years, and the "Jewish Arab Leadership Program," which supports aspiring leaders of Jewish and Arab descent with three-year funding scholarships. Additional projects aimed at strengthening Ugandan host communities or building resilience among South Sudanese refugees illustrate the broad spectrum of funding activities. Students, civil society actors, and local initiatives benefit from the foundation's openness to innovative ideas and inclusive concepts that strengthen peace, tolerance, and self-reliance locally in the long term. Interested institutions can submit applications at any time and thus contribute to the shared vision of respectful coexistence.
