The funding area Mobility, Transport, Roads of the State of Baden-Württemberg is aimed at municipal authorities and pursues the goal of sustainably strengthening public local passenger transport (ÖPNV) as well as regional rail passenger transport (SPNV). In addition, the focus is on municipal road construction and the expansion of cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. A particular emphasis is placed on the development and provision of open mobility data to advance digital networking and smart traffic planning in cities and regions. As a grant program, it covers both investment costs for infrastructure measures as well as planning and engineering services, as well as digitization and data collection costs. Eligible for funding are public institutions based or operating in Baden-Württemberg with responsibility as municipal carriers.

Interested cities, municipalities, and districts can submit their applications continuously, as no fixed deadlines are set. The requested funds support concrete measures for the upgrading and modernization of existing transport networks, the construction of new cycling and pedestrian paths, as well as the digital processing of mobility services. By funding qualified expert concepts and participation in special programs such as rail vehicle funding, municipal actors are supported in implementing efficient, barrier-free, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions. The program orientation thus not only promotes transport infrastructure but also contributes to strengthening regional development and enhancing the quality of life in Baden-Württemberg.
