Funding Fund of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region – Funding Fund Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein

The funding fund of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region – Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein Funding Fund supports public-law institutions, interest groups, and associations in investments for sustainable structural development. Funded are investment projects, expert studies and concepts, as well as sustainable public relations and regional or project management in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, culture, mobility, and urban development. As a grant or interest-free loan, up to 80% of eligible expenses for flagship projects and up to 50% for other initiatives can be covered. At the same time, a minimum funding amount of €10,000 is a prerequisite for applications in Schleswig-Holstein by districts, cities, municipalities, offices, special-purpose associations, as well as the Hanseatic cities of Lübeck, Neumünster, and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Applications must be submitted before the start of the projects and must contribute to the strategic goals of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. A personal contribution of at least 5% of the eligible expenses is required (exception: Projektbüro Metropolregion Hamburg e.V.). For cooperative projects, a cooperative agreement with the lead applicant is necessary. Evaluation criteria include proof of benefit for regional development, a clear cooperation structure, and ensuring adequate own funds. The fund targets project ideas that generate synergies, set sustainable impulses, and permanently strengthen Schleswig-Holstein’s profile within the Hamburg Metropolitan Region.
