Funding Fund for Future-Oriented Land Use

Future-Oriented Land Use Funding Fund is a continuously open subsidy fund of the Alfred Toepfer Foundation F.V.S. with a Europe-wide focus. It is aimed at non-profit organizations, educational institutions, companies, cooperatives, public institutes, as well as private individuals who wish to implement innovative concepts for sustainable land use. The fund supports engagement in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, climate protection, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection. Applications can be submitted at any time, allowing flexible project implementation without fixed submission deadlines. Thus, the fund supports civil society actors, environmental and climate protection NGOs, farmers, municipalities, research institutions, and other experts alike.

Against the backdrop of the climate and biodiversity crisis, structural change, and digital developments, the fund seeks exemplary project approaches in agricultural and food systems, forests, and protected areas. Funded are concepts that combine sustainable and climate-appropriate management with nature conservation objectives and convincingly demonstrate their level of innovation and transferability. Crucial for positive evaluation are proof of a project-related contribution to future-oriented land use, location within Europe, and clear evidence of sustainable conceptual approaches. Evaluation criteria such as sustainability, degree of innovation, and model character are central. The fund enables pilot projects and best-practice examples that serve as catalysts for climate-friendly land use and contribute to the dissemination of effective solution strategies.
