Description

The Thüringer Sporthilfe Foundation, in cooperation with the Thuringia Olympic Training Center, the State Sports Association, and the top national federations, is establishing a special support circle for the preparation for the Milano/Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The goal is to provide talented young and elite athletes from Thuringia with optimal conditions: all necessary measures, from training courses and training camps to international competitions and modern equipment, are financially covered. Approximately €900,000 have already been invested in sports development within the existing support circles to best promote athletic potential in disciplines such as biathlon, luge, speed skating, and ski jumping. The program spans 12 months and is adapted annually after the pre-Olympic season to reflect the current requirements.

Participation is exclusively open to Thuringian athletes in Olympic and Paralympic winter sports who have been selected through an appointment to the support circle. The decision is based on athletic performance and nomination by the respective federations. Expenses for training courses, training camps, international competitions, and sports equipment are funded. This targeted support ensures seamless competition preparation, enabling athletes to further develop at the highest level and create the best possible conditions for Milano/Cortina. The foundation acts as a reliable service provider within the Thuringian sports funding system to sustainably support ambitious sporting careers.
