Funding from the Protestant Foundation for Church and Diakonia in the Aachen Church District

The Protestant Foundation for Church and Diakonia in the Aachen Church District continuously supports diaconal, ecclesiastical, and charitable projects throughout the Aachen Church District. With straightforward grants, it particularly supports fields of work in elderly care, youth, family, disability, and addiction assistance, as well as integration efforts for people with a migration background. The foundation's goal is to strengthen places of hope locally and to offer people in challenging life situations a sustainable perspective. Since its founding in 2006, over €2.14 million have already been invested in a wide range of services, from kindergartens, youth facilities, and counseling centers to senior work, hospice services, and initiatives for labor market integration. The foundation relies on close networking with church congregations, diaconal organizations, and civil society engagement to bring the Christian understanding of humanity into the everyday lives of all generations.

Eligible to apply are all non-profit church congregations, public institutions, and independent diaconal organizations with membership in the Diaconal Work Rhineland located in the Aachen Church District. Funding requirements include proof of tax-privileged purposes according to the Fiscal Code, a written application with a description of the field of work, a financing overview, and a signed form, as well as compliance with the foundation's statutes. The board of trustees decides on the allocation independently of cycles, prioritizing the continuation of urgently needed projects and participation as donors or supporters. The transparent allocation of funds enables effective promotion of diaconal action locally and sustainably strengthens social cohesion in North Rhine-Westphalia.
