Funding Partnership INDES (Foundation for Science and Democracy)

Since 2022, the INDES funding partnership of the Foundation for Science and Democracy has been supporting the social science journal INDES – Journal for Politics and Society published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. The objective is to disseminate scientifically grounded contributions that enrich current political and social debates and open up perspectives for a liberal democracy. Through a careful selection of topics and sections, the magazine helps introduce new viewpoints into the public opinion spectrum and provides both academically interested readers and political practitioners with exciting, well-prepared research findings. As a continuous sponsorship commitment, the foundation aims to sustainably promote scientific communication throughout the entire federal territory.

Funding is granted exclusively to non-profit organizations and public institutions that are active as publishers, editors, or researchers in the fields of political science and sociology, or that engage in voluntary projects fostering societal discourse. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no fixed deadline. Interested institutions benefit from a straightforward application process and the opportunity to contribute long-term to establishing a forum for debate that presents key political issues in an understandable and stimulating manner. The partnership offers valuable support to all who wish to bridge the gap between research and practice and thereby promote social cohesion.
