The funding awards and degree completion prizes of the Dr. Alfons Paulus University Foundation are aimed at students and graduates of the Chemistry department at the University of Regensburg (Bachelor, Master, Teaching Degree) as well as, since 2004, outstanding doctoral graduates. Each year, as part of the "Day of Chemistry" of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, the awardees are honored for exceptional academic and doctoral achievements. The selection is made by professors and private lecturers of the University of Regensburg based on the academic final grade. The awarded funds can be used to acquire chemical textbooks and publications to further advance research and teaching and to sustainably support scientific work.
The Dr. Alfons Paulus University Foundation, founded in 2000 on the initiative of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Sauer, aims to recognize excellent achievements in the field of chemistry and to improve study conditions.
