Description

The funding program of the Vienna Business Agency supports micro and small enterprises that are significantly affected in their ground-floor operations due to the construction of the U2 and U5 subway lines in Vienna. The aim is to reimburse affected businesses for part of their ongoing rental costs and to promote innovative measures that stabilize business operations despite reduced accessibility. Per calendar year, funding can be applied for up to 50% of rental costs (maximum €10,000) and up to 80% of expenses for initiative projects (maximum €7,000). Both types of funding can be used simultaneously, with only actual net costs incurred being considered. The program tranche is unlimited in duration and guarantees ongoing submissions on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligible applicants are existing entrepreneurs with fewer than 50 employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet total of a maximum of €10 million, whose business premises are members of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, regularly receive end-customer traffic, and are directly affected by at least one defined impairment criterion (e.g., restricted access or increased noise and dust exposure). In addition to the online application, a De-minimis declaration, a current annual financial statement or income-expenditure statement, the application authenticity certificate, as well as current rental cost or depreciation documents are required. The business promotion is paid out in partial amounts and settled after project completion with a final report and the associated supporting documents. Funding recipients thus benefit sustainably from planning security to stabilize their business operations during the U2/U5 construction phase and to implement future-oriented initiative measures.
