Funding Program for Addiction Control – Prevention and Counseling Services in the Field of Addiction

The funding program for addiction control of the Bavarian State Ministry for Health, Care and Prevention supports associations and municipalities in Bavaria in implementing targeted, low-threshold projects for addiction prevention and control. In particular, projects that take regional specificities into account and address newly emerging substance-related and non-substance-related addiction risks with significant health relevance are promoted. Eligible costs include both personnel expenses and material resources, with a grant of up to 90% of the eligible costs being awarded. A prerequisite is professional coordination with the granting authority and compliance with the quality standards of addiction prevention in Bavaria (ZPG). Furthermore, project objectives must be defined according to the SMART criteria, measures recorded in the documentation system Dot.sys, and an accompanying process evaluation conducted. The own contribution amounts to at least 10% of the total expenses.

Interested institutions submit their applications on an ongoing basis and include a goal formulation according to SMART criteria as well as proof of the professional qualification of the employed specialists. The determination of personnel costs is based on the maximum rates of the Free State of Bavaria (TV-L), and required flat rates are determined according to the classification regulations of the TV-L. This funding enables the establishment of sustainable prevention and counseling services that specifically address local needs. Through the combination of qualitative support and financial assistance, effective and verifiable addiction prevention in Bavaria is strengthened.
