Funding Program for Local TV Supply

The Media Authority Berlin-Brandenburg (mabb) supports companies in Brandenburg with the Local TV Integration Funding Program in strengthening and modernizing their local broadcasting services. The goal is the comprehensive and high-quality distribution of local television offerings that make an important contribution to the regional information landscape. Funding is provided to commercial broadcasters who enrich local and regional reporting through their programming. Eligible expenses include the transmission of pre-produced programs in HD and SD to cable and IPTV network operators, the preparation of content for media libraries, connection to the Local TV portal on Astra 19.2° East, distribution of EPG data, as well as the recording of broadcasts. The mabb evaluates incoming applications based on their contribution to local and regional information, with particular emphasis on innovative approaches to program networking and provision. The program started on January 1, 2020, and has since successfully integrated nine broadcasters into the digital infrastructure.
