Funding Project "Open Space Design"

The funding project "Open Space Design" of the Förderstiftung Lebensgemeinschaft Wickersdorf supports the gradual renewal and redesign of the outdoor facilities on the site in Thuringia. Based on designs by master’s students from the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt, short-, medium-, and long-term measures have been defined – ranging from the extension of the linden avenue and new access paths to the redesign of festival and celebration areas. This conceptual approach aims to create and sustainably expand an attractive, safe, and barrier-free environment for the people under care as well as for employees. Funding in the form of grants is continuously available and can be supplemented by individual ideas and practical engagement. Initial successes are already evident in the replacement planting of historic lindens, implemented through a designated donation in autumn 2020.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations and private individuals who belong to the Lebensgemeinschaft Wickersdorf or actively participate in the foundation’s projects. The target group includes people with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities as well as volunteers and committed helpers who wish to contribute their expertise and energy. A prerequisite for a grant is membership in the Lebensgemeinschaft or willingness to participate with one’s own ideas or practical support. A completed contact form serves as the necessary application document. Applications and declarations of support can be submitted at any time, as there are no deadlines. This funding offer enables a participatory design process centered on the quality of life and inclusion of all involved.
