Funding Project "WiDo 34" (Residential-Care-Support Community)

The funding project “WiDo 34” of the Förderstiftung Lebensgemeinschaft Wickersdorf supports non-profit organizations in the planning and construction of a residential-care-community in Wickersdorf, Thuringia. The goal is the new construction of an intergenerational house that enables older members of the community who require physical, mental, or emotional assistance to receive care and support in their familiar living environment. The measure covers both planning and construction costs and spans the fields of social affairs, health, housing construction & modernization, labor & social services, as well as infrastructure & urban development. Thanks to the continuous funding opportunity, non-profit organizations can submit grant applications at any time to realize care-appropriate architecture with communal areas and individual living units.

The project not only ensures the preservation of a familiar environment but also sustainably strengthens the quality of life and participation of older residents. Through the commitment of the funding foundation and the adoption of tailored financing concepts such as the Intensive Care Strengthening Act, a sustainable model project is created in the rural area of Thuringia. The funding is exclusively available to non-profit organizations and covers essential expenses from preliminary planning to completion. The initiative is regarded as a beacon for inclusive building concepts and promotes a future-oriented care infrastructure that enables older people to live self-determined lives within a familiar community.
