Funding Projects of the Foundation "Great Help for Little Heroes"

The “Great Help for Little Heroes” Foundation supports public institutions and non-profit organizations in Baden-Württemberg with annual funding totaling approximately €500,000. Targeted projects are funded that improve the hospital stay and care of sick children and their families at the Heilbronn Children’s Hospital. This includes established offerings such as hospital clowns, art and music therapy, sibling care, or animal-assisted therapies, as well as innovative “lighthouse projects” for the redesign of wards or the acquisition of modern medical technology. Funding is provided in the form of grants and is specifically intended for measures that are not or only insufficiently financed by the cost bearers. Through close cooperation with the children’s hospital and thanks to the uncomplicated allocation process, supported initiatives can be implemented quickly and achieve sustainable impact.

Of particular interest are projects that directly reach inpatient and outpatient patients, their relatives, as well as volunteers engaged with the hospital. Eligible to apply are public and non-profit sponsors who can demonstrate collaboration with the Heilbronn Children’s Hospital and substantiate an urgent need for funding. Selection is based on the relevance to everyday hospital life, the urgency of the need, as well as the long-term effect and sustainability of the measure. Project proposals can be submitted at any time, allowing for prompt decisions on grants.
