Description

The funding guideline of the Northern German Foundation for Environment and Development offers grants to non-profit associations, organizations, and public law entities as well as volunteer initiatives based or active in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for environmental, nature conservation, and One World projects in accordance with Agenda 21. The goal is to promote nature and environmental protection, development-related cooperation, and environmental education. Applications can be submitted continuously before the project starts; projects may last up to 36 months and must commence within one year of approval. An appropriate own contribution is required, as well as compliance with ecological, economic, and social efficiency and sustainability. Particular importance is attached to the promotion of volunteer work, practical relevance, innovative character, and visible results that can be realized in the short to medium term.

Funding is provided for planning and preparation, project-related material, investment and personnel costs, administrative costs (max. 10%), public relations, conceptual project support, success monitoring, and result documentation. Excluded are compensatory and replacement measures, institutional funding, expert reports without direct project relevance, ongoing costs after project completion, and self-promotion projects. Decisions are made based on a fixed amount or partial financing. Evaluation criteria include sustainability, role model function, broad impact, and inclusion of long-term unemployed persons. Through the combination of environmental and development interests, sustainable and participatory project implementation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is supported, which can have both regional and global effects.
