Description
The Funding Guideline for Water and Flood Protection (RL GH/2018) of the Free State of Saxony offers up to 90% funding as a grant program for measures in the areas of infrastructure, urban development, environmental and nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection. It aims to improve the ecological condition of water bodies, develop integrated water management concepts, and promote flood risk management as well as flood damage remediation. Through ecological renaturation, restoration of connectivity, construction of fish passages, or technical protective measures, municipalities and private actors can increase resilience against heavy rainfall and flooding. Duration: September 19, 2024, to June 30, 2031, with ongoing application submission and a minimum threshold of 10,000 euros.
Eligible applicants include municipalities, municipal associations, water and soil associations, as well as natural and legal persons under private law and participant communities for specific measures. Funding prerequisites include securing overall financing, proof of economic efficiency and frugality, compliance with procurement law, and the prohibition of projects already commenced. Exclusively maintenance measures of water bodies are not eligible for funding. For application submission, a formal application form, a project description or concept, a cost calculation according to DIN 276 or a detailed cost estimate, design and approval plans for investment projects, evidence of public-law permits, and project-specific documents are required. Applications can be submitted to the Saxony State Directorate from September 19, 2024, until June 30, 2031. The funding rate amounts to up to 90% of eligible expenses and provides planning security for sustainable measures. The Saxony State Directorate manages the procedure, issues funding decisions, and monitors the proper use of funds to ensure transparent and efficient allocation of resources.
