Description

The Funding Guideline for Art and Culture (FördRL K/K) offers non-repayable grants from the Free State of Saxony for non-profit state associations, clubs, public institutions, and foundations in the fields of visual and performing arts, film, literature, music, socio-culture, as well as for museum projects. The aim of the initiative is to strengthen cultural diversity, intercultural encounters, and the sustainable development of a vibrant museum landscape with statewide and cross-border impact. Institutional applications must be submitted annually by October 15 for the following fiscal year, while acquisitions of significant museum objects can be funded throughout the year. There is no legal entitlement; decisions are made following due examination within the framework of available budgetary funds.

Eligible expenses include fees, proportional personnel costs, material and investment expenditures, as well as restoration, preventive conservation, scientific cataloging, documentation, and exhibition concepts with funding rates of up to 80%. Requirements include a registered office in the Free State of Saxony, a minimum own contribution of 5% for institutional funding or 20% for museum projects, adherence to the ethical guidelines of ICOM and the standards of the German Museum Association, as well as permanent public accessibility of the museum objects. Projects with predominantly commercial character, benefit events, or private collections are excluded. Selection is based on museum professional review, sustainability aspects, contributions to cultural diversity, and strengthening regional identities. Applications must include, among other documents, an economic and financing plan, operational and project concept, statutes or articles of association, register excerpt, and proof of non-profit status.
