The funding guideline "Public Housing in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia 2024" supports municipal housing promotion offices in the creation, modernization, and permanent provision of publicly subsidized housing. Sponsors of public institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia can submit grant applications year-round via NRW.BANK. The program funds both new construction projects and comprehensive modernization measures to sustainably secure the stock of affordable housing. Through the straightforward approval process of the "Housing Promotion Approval Authorities" portal, all tools and information services – from the extranet to the customer portal and WohnWeb – are consolidated to enable an efficient funding process.

Eligible for funding are exclusively public institutions with headquarters and responsibility for housing promotion in North Rhine-Westphalia. The applying offices benefit from a transparent application procedure without deadlines, as submissions are possible throughout the year. The funding in the form of grants aims to provide permanently high-quality, socially bound housing for broad segments of the population. In this way, the measure contributes to strengthening municipal infrastructure and to the housing policy strategy of the Ministry of Homeland, Municipal Affairs, Building and Digitization of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
