Description
The funding guideline Knowledge Exchange, Innovations, Networks (FRL WIN/2023) – Part B.II.1 supports projects that promote professional, entrepreneurial, and personal skills development in the field of agriculture and forestry in Saxony. This grant program is aimed at educational institutions that implement initiatives with qualified personnel to advance knowledge exchange and the qualification of entrepreneurs as well as other actors in rural areas. Through targeted support, event formats such as specialist conferences, workshops, seminars, working groups, technical excursions, and demonstration projects are particularly supported. The goal is to provide participants with practical access to new insights and to prepare them for future challenges in sustainable management.
Within the framework of the initiative, projects in Saxony are supported by grants covering 90% up to 100% of eligible expenses. Projects focusing on resource conservation, biodiversity, and emission reduction can even expect full funding. Furthermore, initiatives emphasizing animal welfare, animal health, as well as measures for climate change adaptation and regional marketing are also supported. This broad-based funding aims to promote innovation and technology transfer in agriculture, whereby the program establishes a cyclical qualification process within companies and requires continuous training of the personnel involved. Participation is conditional on the projects being carried out in Saxony, although certain exceptions, such as for technical excursions, are possible.
The initiative aims to sustainably strengthen rural areas by promoting the exchange of current expertise and best practices. Systematic further education and qualification of entrepreneurs and their teams is regarded as a central step to increase competitiveness and innovative capacity in agriculture and forestry. Educational institutions possessing the necessary expertise and demonstrating secured overall financing have the opportunity to submit applications within the official calls for proposals. This funding instrument focuses on sustainable development and emphasizes the importance of continuous further education in a changing industry, thereby establishing long-term structures and networks that support regional value creation in the Free State of Saxony.
