Federal Funding Guidelines

The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) provides a comprehensive funding program under the Federal Funding Guidelines for projects in the areas of children and youth, family, equality, civic engagement, education, as well as services for older people. With applications accepted on an ongoing basis, the Ministry supports family policy measures, child and youth welfare projects of supraregional significance, gender equality initiatives, and civil society engagement aimed at strengthening democracy and social cohesion. Furthermore, projects to improve the participation and independence of older people are supported. Funding is provided in the form of grants awarded as guideline-based subsidies.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, public institutions, companies, private individuals, start-ups, interest groups, as well as other associations and foundations. The funding guidelines offer orientation for sponsors and initiatives in the thematic fields of family benefits, child and youth welfare, gender equality policy, educational projects and engagement, as well as projects for older people. The objective is to achieve sustainable impact in the respective areas and to enable equal participation of all generations. Applications can be submitted at any time in accordance with the specific provisions of the respective guideline, allowing interested parties to apply for funding flexibly and according to their needs and to implement their projects.
