Description

The Education Foundation for Thuringia is committed statewide to a continuous STEM education pathway from early childhood support through to the transition into vocational training and university studies. Through financial grants and non-material support, practice-oriented scientific and technical projects in daycare centers and primary schools are promoted. The goal is to enable experiences in experiments and inquiry-based learning as early as preschool age and to strengthen educational professionals and teachers in implementing engaging educational offerings. The spectrum ranges from consultations on developing a STEM curriculum to training for staff, as well as researcher workshops and holiday camps for children.

Eligible for funding are educational institutions, public bodies, and non-profit organizations in Thuringia that wish to design and implement STEM projects. Applications can be submitted informally and in writing at any time; a cover letter and a project description are sufficient. Selection is based on the quality of the educational concept and the sustainability of the project. The open deadline policy provides planning and implementation flexibility to respond adaptively to local needs. Interested partners from daycare centers, primary schools, and other educational providers can thus easily gain access to resources to inspire young explorers early on for science and technology and to shape long-term educational pathways in the STEM field.
