Funding of the Alfred Koerppen Foundation

The Alfred Koerppen Foundation is committed nationwide to promoting contemporary "serious" music (art music) as well as the sustainable preservation and dissemination of Alfred Koerppen’s compositional oeuvre. Private individuals and non-profit organizations can apply for grants for the creation, publication, performance, and recording of new works. Funding covers, among other things, fees, printing and publication costs, as well as expenses for performances and recordings. The financial support aims to provide innovative composers, musicians, and ensembles with the opportunity to realize their projects while simultaneously making Alfred Koerppen’s musical legacy accessible to a broad audience.

Applications can be submitted informally at any time. Required are a detailed project description, information on the planned use of funds, contact details including bank information, and—if available—audio samples. Funding is granted based on alignment with the foundation’s objectives. A committee evaluates the submitted materials according to their artistic content and innovative potential. Through the continuous awarding of grants, the foundation sustainably supports projects that advance contemporary musical creation and keep Alfred Koerppen’s extensive body of work alive.
