Description

The funding for the maintenance of alpine and agricultural roads in Salzburg supports the sustainable upkeep and extension of the lifespan of alpine and agricultural roads as well as associated bridges. Eligible cooperatives, private individuals, interest groups, and other associations receive financial grants of up to 45% of the eligible costs. Additionally, technical and organizational assistance is offered to accompany the entire process from the planning phase through to completion. Applications can be submitted continuously; however, a funding commitment must be obtained before construction begins. The goal is to ensure the long-term safety and usability of rural infrastructure and to preserve the public interest in functional traffic access in alpine regions.

Particularly interested parties for funding are legal entities responsible for alpine and agricultural roads, including interest and goods road cooperatives as well as individuals with existing maintenance obligations and technical needs for general renovation. A prerequisite for the grant is an informal application including proof of legal status, a current cost estimate, and a financing plan detailing total costs, own contributions, and third-party funds. Furthermore, a written declaration permitting inspection of financial records and a data protection notice in accordance with § 8 DSG 2000 are required. Disbursement occurs after project-compliant execution and proper accounting, accompanied by an on-site performance inspection. The funding measure is unlimited in duration and free of charge – an important contribution to strengthening agricultural infrastructure and regional value creation in the state of Salzburg.
