The Andrea and Klaus-Dieter Maubach Foundation supports non-profit organizations, associations, and educational institutions nationwide that are engaged in the fields of hospice and bereavement work, youth and elderly care, palliative care, as well as science, research, and education. With an average funding volume of €8,000 per project, charitable purposes, welfare services, and the protection of marriage and family are promoted. A special focus is placed on innovative approaches, such as the use of virtual reality in pediatric and adolescent medicine: a cooperative project with the University Hospital Essen immerses young patients during painful treatments in an interactive underwater world and actively involves their relatives to reduce anxiety and positively transform the treatment experience.
