Description

The Anna Hellwege Foundation was established in 2006 to honor the memory of Anna Nicolina Hellwege, who met a tragic end in Hamburg. As a non-profit foundation, it focuses on promoting international understanding and expanding youth welfare projects that contribute to strengthening interpersonal relationships. The foundation is dedicated to charitable purposes and is committed to social cohesion as well as supporting vulnerable groups. Through targeted funding of projects, a space is created where respect, education, and mutual understanding are central—values that are indispensable in a pluralistic society.

Funding provided as grants is exclusively directed to non-profit organizations such as non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbHs), associations, or cooperatives that wish to implement innovative and sustainable project initiatives in the fields of international understanding and youth welfare. Projects realized in Hamburg are given preferential consideration, although funding is also possible nationwide and in an international context. The foundation’s funding approach thus offers committed project partners ongoing financial support to address social challenges and build bridges between different cultures and generations. This targeted support enables initiatives to take responsibility and effect positive change in the long term.

Funding from the Anna Hellwege Foundation is an attractive component for organizations that distinguish themselves through commitment to international understanding, youth welfare, and other charitable measures. Continuous funding ensures ongoing access to financial resources, allowing project-related initiatives to respond flexibly to current societal needs. Through this support, not only local projects in Hamburg are advanced, but also national and international measures that promote democratic values and social cohesion are enabled. The foundation thereby contributes to enabling diverse, non-profit projects to realize their vision—an approach that fosters a vibrant, inclusive, and future-oriented society.
