Description
The funding initiative "Work Environment 4.0" is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and midcaps in Salzburg that wish to redesign their operational structures and organizational processes with a future-oriented approach. Projects in the areas of digitalization, modern work forms, lifelong learning, age-appropriate work, and workplace health promotion are supported. A grant rate of 40% enables financial support of up to €25,000 per company (up to €50,000 for cooperation projects). Applications can be submitted continuously until the annual budgets are exhausted, but no later than December 31, 2026. The goal is to assist Salzburg companies in implementing home office models, EdTech licenses, change management consulting, and new qualification formats, thereby sustainably increasing competitiveness and employee satisfaction.
Eligible to participate are SMEs and midcaps with a business location in the state of Salzburg, whose application is submitted before the project start. The project duration is up to 18 months, with a minimum volume of €5,000. Eligible expenses include external services (consulting, training and further education), costs for internal project management, and, in exceptional cases, investive EdTech licenses. Ineligible expenses include, among others, leasing financing, non-project-related material costs, land purchases, or legally mandated minimum standards. Applications must include a cost and financing plan, a detailed project description, the current annual financial statement, and proof of other funding. Evaluation is carried out by the Department of Economy, Tourism and Municipalities of the Office of the Salzburg State Government. This initiative offers companies an attractive opportunity to realize modern work environments and anchor important innovations in the workplace.
