Promotion of the Revitalization of Town Centers

The promotion of the revitalization of town centers supports public institutions in Vorarlberg in the development of well-founded strategic concepts and studies for the further development of inner-city retail and service locations. The goal is to optimize the supply structure and visibly enhance the quality of stay in designated core areas or shopping center suitability zones. Funding is provided particularly for analyses of site selection, concept development for diverse usage forms, and measures to strengthen public spaces. By focusing on city and town centers as attractive hubs for trade and services, a sustainable increase in attractiveness is pursued, which stimulates local value chains and generates a positive ripple effect on surrounding areas.

Applications can be submitted digitally at any time before the project starts to the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government – Department of General Economic Affairs. Eligible expenses include strategic concepts and studies with a minimum volume of 10,000 euros up to a maximum of 60,000 euros, with a grant rate of 30%. The application must include a meaningful project description as well as cost estimates. A legally binding commitment is made based on the guidelines valid at the time of receipt. Payment is made after completion and submission of the final accounting including a copy of the study. This funding offer provides municipalities and public institutions in Vorarlberg with valuable support in the structured development of urban and rural town centers – a contribution to strengthening regional infrastructure and creating livable community spaces.
