Funding of the Bergedorf-Bille Foundation for the Social Integration of People

The Bergedorf-Bille Foundation specifically supports projects that strengthen social cohesion in Hamburg and offer sustainable solutions to societal challenges. The funding program is aimed at non-profit organizations planning innovative initiatives in youth welfare, elderly care, international understanding, promotion of tolerance, as well as charitable purposes. Projects that are already in a concrete planning phase and seek immediate implementation are eligible for grant funding. This approach is intended to particularly empower children and young people, seniors, and other population groups affected by social isolation. The initiative thus combines diverse thematic focuses such as development cooperation, labor and social affairs, and rural development to develop a holistic concept of social integration.

The core of the funding is the concrete support of community projects that promote intercultural exchange, cohesion within neighborhoods, and active participation in communal offerings. A prerequisite for a successful application is the submission of a detailed project description, a sound budget plan, and proof of the non-profit status of the applying organization. With this program, the foundation intends not only to revitalize the social sphere in Hamburg but also to complement existing structures with new, innovative approaches. Preventive allocations and retrospective funding of already completed projects are expressly excluded. Thus, a dynamic funding environment is created that focuses on the direct implementation of socially relevant measures and thereby makes a sustainable contribution to integration and cultural coexistence.
