Support for operational inspections concerning animal health and animal welfare

The funding of operational inspections within the framework of the Tyrolean Animal Health Service supports livestock holders in Tyrol in having mandatory health and animal welfare checks fully financed by their attending veterinarians. Member farms of the Tyrolean Animal Health Service submit the care contract and participation agreement, thereby enabling seamless documentation of the annual surveys. The inspections cover all essential aspects of animal husbandry, including animal welfare, hygiene, veterinary drug documentation, animal health, as well as structural and management-related criteria. Thanks to the 100% funding rate, the farms incur no costs for these official actions – a sustainable support to identify and minimize health risks at an early stage. The funding is available indefinitely and is aimed at agricultural and forestry enterprises that actively engage with the goal of optimized animal health and improved animal welfare standards.

For the application, membership in the Tyrolean Animal Health Service as well as a valid care and participation contract are prerequisites. Upon submission, the State of Tyrol assumes payment for all operational inspections directly to the veterinarians. As this is a permanent funding opportunity, new member farms can apply at any time. Eligible expenses include all costs incurred in connection with the annual operational surveys. The program helps to strengthen agricultural enterprises in their prevention strategies, reduce animal health risks, and efficiently comply with legal requirements for animal welfare – with full cost coverage by the State of Tyrol.
