Description
Since 2009, the Free State of Bavaria has been supporting the operating costs of childcare places for children under three years of age in daycare centers as well as in day care. Municipalities and local providers of public youth welfare can apply annually for a grant, which is granted as a fixed-amount funding in accordance with Art. 21 BayKiBiG. The goal is to expand the offer both qualitatively and quantitatively and thereby strengthen the compatibility of family and career. Funding in the field of infrastructure & urban development is provided as a grant from federal and state funds and is limited to municipalities and public institutions in Bavaria. A complete child-related funding application must be submitted by June 30 of the following year.
The operating costs per place are funded to the extent of the base value multiplied by the booking time and expansion factor; the actual booking times are decisive. The measure extends over an approval period of 12 months. Funding requirements are responsibility according to Art. 5 BayKiBiG, an entitlement to funding according to Art. 18 BayKiBiG, as well as the occupancy of places with children under three years at the start of funding. Eligible expenses include exclusively operating costs for places in daycare centers and day care. As proof, a fully completed application and the corresponding booking receipts must be submitted. The responsible district government reviews the approval and accounting to ensure smooth processing in the interest of needs-based childcare.
