Description

The Bishop Klaus Hemmerle Foundation sustainably supports pastoral services in the Diocese of Aachen to ensure pastoral care on site. This includes supplementary funding for personnel positions as well as the promotion of innovative projects by pastoral staff. In addition to the financial support of employees, the foundation enables the financing of training, career entry, and further education for priests, deacons, pastoral workers, and parish workers. Likewise, young people are accompanied on their path to a pastoral profession by targeted promotion of their personal, educational, and professional development. Employees in pastoral service who find themselves in need receive short-term support through the foundation, and priest candidates are specifically supported through special grants.

Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and individuals active in pastoral service in the Diocese of Aachen may submit funding applications throughout the year. Decisive are a precise project description and a detailed cost plan, which must be submitted together with the funding application. Expenses for personnel costs, project costs, and training costs are eligible for funding. The continuous possibility to apply provides planning security for long-term projects and qualification measures. There is no call for proposals or deadline, which enables uncomplicated submission and timely approval. The decision on the funding amount is based on the statutory objectives and is anchored in volunteer committees such as the board and advisory council, which oversee the sustainable use of funds and compliance with the donor’s intent.
