Description

The Brigitte Merk-Erbe Foundation for the Promotion of Bayreuth Associations specifically supports non-profit associations based in Bayreuth and strengthens the diverse voluntary engagement in Bavaria. Eligible for funding are projects in the areas of social affairs, education & training, culture & media, environmental/nature conservation, animal protection, disaster relief, sports, and initiatives for social cohesion and democracy. Interested associations can submit an informal written application at any time (maximum two DIN A4 pages), outlining their project idea, financial needs, and the expected positive effects on local club life. Provided there is official recognition, decisions on the awarding of grants are made promptly and continuously to support ongoing club activities in an uncomplicated manner.

A prerequisite for funding is proof of non-profit status (exemption notice) as well as the formal registration of the association in Bayreuth. The application must include, in addition to the contact details of the association and the designated contact person, a detailed project description including justification, the association’s bank details, and a commitment to use the funds for the specified purpose. After positive approval, a report on the use of funds must be submitted within six months, documenting the proper use of the resources. With this transparent and unbureaucratic funding initiative, the foundation makes an important contribution to revitalizing local club life and encourages broad anchoring and sustainable promotion of civic engagement.
