Description
Since 2000, the Brunswiker Foundation, based in Kiel, has supported non-profit organizations and civic initiatives in Schleswig-Holstein through project-based grants. Eligible for funding are institutions with non-profit status that are active in the state capital Kiel or the northern German region. Financial support can be granted for proposed projects in the fields of art, culture, science, international understanding and reconciliation, critical historical awareness, monument and landscape preservation, as well as museums, collections, libraries, and efforts to promote social cohesion. Funding applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and require a detailed project description as well as a comprehensive cost and financing plan. Submissions are possible both by mail and email, with the requested funding amount clearly indicated.
The purpose of the grant is to secure existing non-profit institutions in the long term and to further advance initiated projects. Through financial support, initiators are encouraged to implement innovative research ideas, maintain local cultural projects, and strengthen civic engagement. Especially associations and initiatives committed to monument protection, climate protection, social infrastructure, or modern science communication find a reliable source of funding here. In this way, the Brunswiker Foundation contributes to sustainably promoting cultural, scientific, and social life in Kiel and the surrounding region and to reinforcing social cohesion.
