Funding of the Preetz Community Foundation

In Schleswig-Holstein, the Bürgerstiftung Preetz supports non-profit and charitable initiatives in Preetz that are not part of the city's mandatory tasks. Eligible applicants range from private individuals and companies to registered organizations. Projects in education, culture & media, sports, environmental/nature conservation, social initiatives, engagement for social cohesion and democracy, vocational training & further education, as well as measures for energy efficiency & climate protection and work & social affairs are funded. Grants are provided on an ongoing basis; applications can be submitted at any time.

The foundation aims to sustainably strengthen the local common good and mobilize innovative forces within the community. A prerequisite for funding is that the project is based in or operates in Preetz and that it goes beyond the city's mandatory responsibilities. Evaluation focuses on the relevance to the common good in Preetz, the long-term impact, and the active participation of citizens. Through funding, not only is the cultural and social diversity of the region enriched, but individual support needs of Preetz residents in difficult life situations are also taken into account. Interested applicants are given the opportunity to make a sustainable contribution to the quality of life and social cohesion locally with their project.
