Support for the Werra-Meißner Community Foundation

The Bürgerstiftung Werra-Meißner, as a regional initiative in the Werra-Meißner district, supports non-profit projects that strengthen social cohesion, democracy, as well as cultural, social, and educational activities. Eligible for funding are private individuals, companies, educational institutions, interest groups, and other associations with headquarters or project locations in Hesse, specifically in the Werra-Meißner district. Applications can be submitted continuously; there is no fixed deadline. Support is provided in the form of grants aligned with the funding priorities of engagement for social cohesion/democracy, social affairs, culture, education, vocational training, and work & social issues. The foundation focuses on targeted impact, sustainability, and local civic engagement.

The core of the funding strategy is the strengthening of civic engagement and the networking of the regional community. Applicants must demonstrate the non-profit purpose of their project and complete the official application form. Evaluation criteria include alignment with the foundation’s objectives, the sustainability of the project, and the level of participant engagement. The application must include a completed funding application, a detailed project description, and a cost and financing plan.
