Description

Since its founding in 2012, the BVB Foundation "leuchte auf" has supported non-profit organizations and social institutions in Dortmund and the entire Ruhr region in implementing time-limited projects. The aim of this funding is to provide organizations with practical impulses by granting financial, material, and ideal contributions. The foundation's commitment encompasses a wide range of areas, including education, social cohesion, children and youth, migration, social affairs, sports, as well as environmental and climate protection. This funding is intended to enable innovative projects that contribute to fulfilling the statutory objectives and provide additional services to the people supported.

Only non-profit organizations that can prove their non-profit status and generate a significant portion of their resources independently are eligible for funding. Project selection is based on their relevance to the foundation's statutory goals. It does not matter in which specific funding area the project is situated, as long as it achieves socially relevant and sustainable effects. The funding is primarily granted in the form of a subsidy, which helps to expand the capacities of the organizations and implement innovative solutions in the fields of education, engagement, culture, and environment.

Application is straightforward and flexible, as funding applications can be submitted continuously—either in writing or by email. The only required application document is the project proposal, which summarizes the basic information and project concept. The subsidy as the form of funding signals the high value the BVB Foundation "leuchte auf" places on supporting projects that improve social, cultural, or educational activities. Through targeted project funding, the foundation aims not only to provide short-term impulses but also to contribute long-term to social cohesion and sustainable development in North Rhine-Westphalia. This commitment underscores the endeavor to generate measurable added value for the people supported through cooperation and financial assistance.
