Description

The Caritas Community Foundation for the Diocese of Aachen supports the implementation of charitable and benevolent projects throughout the diocese in accordance with its foundation purpose. Eligible for funding are Caritas institutions as well as other tax-privileged and public-law welfare actors active in the fields of social affairs, engagement for social cohesion/democracy, and work & social issues. Applications can be submitted at any time in a timely manner. The foundation board meets twice a year – on April 30 and November 4 – to decide on submitted project applications. Essential requirements include statutory affiliation with Caritas or a comparable legal status, an appropriate own contribution, proof of secured overall financing including public funds, and a project duration of a maximum of three years.

Eligible costs include in particular material costs for project measures, personnel and fee costs, as well as cooperation and deployment costs of volunteer staff. Excluded are the repayment of liabilities and the acquisition of real estate without a coherent, project-related concept. A professional review is conducted based on the criteria of conformity with the foundation’s purpose, sustainability of the measure, and own contribution. For the application, the completed application form, a detailed description of the measures, a cost estimate with financing plan, as well as the statutes or commercial register entry must be attached. A processing lead time of six to eight weeks should be taken into account when submitting to optimally utilize funding opportunities and support the foundation board in its decision-making.
