Funding of the cdw Foundation gGmbH

The cdw Stiftung gGmbH supports regional and global initiatives in Hesse that seamlessly integrate both substantively and communicatively into the foundation’s ongoing projects. The focus is on charitable or benevolent endeavors situated in areas such as research & innovation, environmental and nature conservation, development cooperation, education, health, culture, monument preservation, social welfare, energy efficiency and renewable energies, as well as regional infrastructure. Particular support is given to projects that strengthen Northern Hesse or assist rural regions in developing countries through regenerative energy systems. A key funding objective is the publication of the achieved results so that experts, interested parties, and decision-makers can benefit from the insights gained and generate impulses for sustainable development.

Funding applications can be submitted informally at any time as a project outline and must include information on content, objectives, duration, and costs. The decision basis is the substantive and communicative integration into the foundation’s activities as well as proof that the project represents a meaningful complement to existing measures. Pure financial grants are generally not awarded; instead, the cdw Stiftung seeks close cooperation with partner organizations and involves external experts if necessary. Eligible to apply are tax-privileged corporations, non-profit organizations, and public law institutions pursuing charitable or benevolent purposes. Continuous review within the framework of the foundation’s statutes ensures transparent and autonomous allocation.
