Description
The Darmstadt Sports Foundation supports ambitious sports projects in the science city of Darmstadt and the Darmstadt-Dieburg district with an annual grant of up to €5,000. Projects are funded in the areas of children’s, youth, and senior sports, sports medicine, as well as initiatives for the inclusion and integration of people with a migration background. Also included in the funding spectrum are school-club cooperations, further training, and innovative formats of “sport for all”. Private individuals, clubs, associations, and officials based in the Hessen region can submit a written, justified application throughout the year. Important are a detailed cost breakdown, a comprehensible financing plan, and proof of use within six months after grant approval. Memberships in the foundation’s support association are given preference when approving grants.
The decision-making process is carried out by the board and advisory council based on the degree of innovation, model character, and societal relevance of the submitted projects. Eligible expenses include personnel and material costs as well as travel and training expenses. Special attention is given to projects that sustainably strengthen social cohesion, promote democratic engagement, and provide health-oriented physical activity opportunities for all age groups.
