Description

Since its founding, the Diakonie Foundation Emsland-Bentheim has supported diaconal and social initiatives in the districts of Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim through needs-based grants. Non-profit organizations as well as public institutions based in the aforementioned region can submit applications at any time for subsidies to finance personnel and material costs. Projects from the fields of social affairs, counseling, work & social services, as well as counseling & business financing, are funded, specifically addressing current challenges such as emergencies involving pregnant women, individuals with addiction, or families in precarious life situations. The foundation places special emphasis on ensuring that diaconal measures have a sustainable impact and close institutional gaps in the social support network.

The funding program is explicitly aimed at providers active in the region who implement diaconal or social projects. Personnel costs for professionals and volunteers, as well as material costs necessary for project operations, are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no deadline. A prerequisite is locally anchored activity and orientation towards social assistance based on diaconal principles. Through continuous funding, the foundation contributes to ensuring that people in acute need have access to professional support and that community-based projects can endure permanently. Interested organizations are encouraged to comprehensively outline their project plans and transparently present their financial needs to enable targeted funding.
