Description
The Dr. Horst Böhlke Foundation continuously supports innovative initiatives aimed at advancing therapies against leukemia and optimizing treatment procedures. Eligible applicants include both private individuals and educational institutions, with a focus on scientific staff, nursing personnel, students, and professionals from the fields of conventional medicine, nursing, naturopathy, chemistry, biology, mechanical engineering, and information technology. In exceptional cases, research institutes or universities may also be considered. Funding is particularly granted for projects that enable rapid knowledge transfer, promote scientific work or dissertations, or recognize novel research findings. Annual grants range from €1,000 to €5,000 per project and can be flexibly allocated across multiple applications.
A formal application form is available for download and must be completed and submitted by email by July 15 of each year. Applications received after this date will automatically be considered for the following funding year. The decision is made by the foundation’s board based on clearly defined evaluation criteria such as therapeutic benefit (e.g., increased chances of cure or treatment speed) and implementation potential. Resubmission in the next cycle is possible at any time. Through this supplementary funding, the foundation makes an important contribution to improving the therapeutic environment and accelerating translational processes in leukemia research.
