The focus of the funding lies on research projects and health initiatives as well as projects in the fields of international understanding, education, general and vocational training, heritage and monument preservation, art and culture, accident prevention, landscape conservation, and sports and health. The foundation’s broadly defined statutes allow for flexible funding to address areas where social engagement is most urgently needed.

Interested applicants submit an online application form; if the funding criteria are positively met, the foundation requests additional documents. A recognizable connection to Dräger as well as a charitable or benevolent objective are always prerequisites. Priority is given to regional initiatives in Lübeck that achieve sustainable impact through their local networks and experience. Selection is ongoing, so applications can be submitted at any time. Through this transparent and low-threshold awarding practice, the Dräger Foundation specifically promotes innovations in science, research, education, culture, and environmental and monument protection, thereby contributing to the strengthening of social cohesion.
