Description

The Edith-Haberland-Wagner Foundation promotes social responsibility and emphasizes the value of initiative and entrepreneurial spirit across diverse fields. Through grants, it supports non-profit organizations in Bavaria in implementing projects that advance the preservation of cultural and historical values. The preservation of the traditional Augustiner Brewery Munich plays a central role, as the foundation views safeguarding this cultural heritage not only as securing a longstanding brewing enterprise but also as contributing to the region’s cultural identity. At the same time, funding is directed towards projects in the areas of monument protection, education, youth promotion, art and culture, charitable causes, sports, as well as environmental, nature, and animal protection, and furthermore includes innovative approaches in science, infrastructure and urban development, vocational training and continuing education, labor and social affairs, culture and media, energy efficiency, and climate protection.

The foundation’s funding philosophy is based on the aim to sustainably strengthen social responsibility while preserving traditional values. Grants primarily support projects targeting children and youth, cultural institutions, and social initiatives. This also includes projects that foster community cohesion and protect Munich’s cultural heritage. The broad spectrum of funding enables applicants to engage actively in various thematic areas—from the restoration of historic buildings and monuments to educational initiatives and innovative scientific projects. This allows non-profit organizations to realize their creative and sustainable endeavors.

Only non-profit organizations are eligible for funding, which they can apply for as project sponsors in the form of grants. Ongoing funding provides the opportunity to plan and implement projects over the long term. Through targeted support of diverse projects, the foundation contributes to securing both the preservation of a traditional brewery operation and the strengthening of social cohesion and cultural identity in Bavaria. With this funding concept, the Edith-Haberland-Wagner Foundation makes an important contribution across various social sectors and creates space for innovative, sustainable, and inclusive future strategies.
