Description
Funding for Disaster Control Units in the State of Saxony-Anhalt (Funding Guideline Disaster Control – Funding Guideline DC) supports non-profit organizations as well as public institutions in investing in the comprehensive development and equipment of disaster control units. In the funding region of Saxony-Anhalt, up to 80% of eligible expenses may be granted as a non-repayable subsidy. Funding is provided, among other things, for medical team vehicles, command vehicles for medical services, care or water rescue, equipment vehicles for diving, water rescue and care, field cookers, as well as boats for the water rescue service. The funding also covers the initial procurement of the necessary loading and equipment, provided this is required to establish operational readiness. The goal is a comprehensive, efficient disaster control network that can rely on modern vehicles and equipment, thereby ensuring safety and operational capability in an emergency.
A minimum grant of €5,000 is required for approval, with project commencement only after application submission to the State Administration Office or – in the case of submission by private organizations – after a technical statement from the responsible district or independent city. Used vehicles and boats must be no older than five years and free of technical defects; acceptance is generally carried out by the Institute for Fire and Disaster Protection Heyrothsberge. Application documents include the completed application form, a project description, a cost estimate, a financing plan, as well as the technical statement from the sponsor. Approval is granted by the State Administration Office Saxony-Anhalt on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt based on available budgetary funds.
